Our Mission

Reforestation that's accountable, ecological, and accessible to everyone.

The problem isn't awareness. It's action.

Most people know the climate is in trouble. They've seen the headlines. They recycle, they bring reusable bags, they feel the guilt. But when it comes to doing something meaningful, the options are either overwhelming or suspicious.

Carbon offset markets are riddled with phantom credits — companies paying for forests that were never going to be cut down, or planting monoculture pine farms that look good on paper but do almost nothing for biodiversity. A 2023 investigation found that over 90% of rainforest carbon offsets by the world's leading certifier were worthless.

Meanwhile, 100 companies are responsible for 71% of global industrial emissions. Individual guilt is a distraction from systemic accountability. But individual action still matters — not because it solves the crisis alone, but because it builds the habits, the markets, and the political will that force systemic change.

What Seed does differently

Real trees, not credits

We don't buy carbon credits on a marketplace. Every dollar allocated to planting goes to putting a real tree in the ground through verified partners. You can see the species, the location, and the project it belongs to.

Right trees, right places

Not all reforestation is equal. Mangroves sequester 3-5x more carbon than terrestrial forests. Native species restore ecosystems while monocultures destroy them. We prioritize projects by ecological need — post-disaster recovery, deforestation hotspots, and biodiversity corridors.

Open books

Every dollar of revenue, every expense, every tree planting invoice — published openly. If a carbon company won't show you where the money goes, you should ask why. We publish because we have nothing to hide.

Empowerment over guilt

Seed never shames you for your footprint. The average American emits 16 tonnes of CO2 a year — most of that is baked into infrastructure you didn't choose. We show you the data, celebrate your progress, and focus on what you can control.

Why trees — and why it matters where

Trees are the most proven, scalable carbon removal technology on Earth. A single tree absorbs roughly 22 kg of CO2 per year. But the impact varies enormously depending on what you plant and where.

A mangrove planted in the Indonesian coast sequesters up to 5x more carbon than a pine tree in a temperate forest. It also protects coastlines from storms, provides nursery habitat for fish, and supports local fishing communities. A native hardwood planted in the Amazon restores biodiversity corridors for endangered species while locking away carbon for centuries.

This is why Seed doesn't just plant "a tree somewhere." Every project in our network is scored on ecological priority — factoring in recent deforestation, carbon sequestration potential, biodiversity impact, and community benefit. Your subscription funds go to the projects that need it most, not the ones that are cheapest.

Individual action meets corporate accountability

We track and display emissions data from the world's largest corporate polluters — not to make you feel small, but to give you context. When Saudi Aramco emits 4.3 billion tonnes of CO2 in a year, your 16 tonnes feels invisible. That's by design. The fossil fuel industry invented the "personal carbon footprint" concept to shift blame onto consumers.

Seed rejects that framing. We show you the corporate data so you understand the scale of the problem, and then we give you a concrete way to push back. Every tree planted is a vote for a different kind of economy. Every subscriber strengthens the market signal that people care about this. And when enough people care, corporations and governments have to respond.

This isn't about offsetting your guilt. It's about building something real while holding the biggest emitters accountable.

Where we're going

Seed started as a simple idea: subscribe, we plant. But the vision is bigger than that.

Passive carbon tracking

Phone sensors that detect your transport mode automatically — no manual logging. Your footprint updates in the background while you live your life.

Ecological intelligence

Real-time data from Global Forest Watch and NOAA to route planting funds to post-disaster areas, deforestation hotspots, and the ecosystems that need help right now.

Open source accounting

Monthly published financials showing exactly where every dollar goes. Revenue, costs, planting invoices, infrastructure bills — all public.

Business accounts

Let companies subscribe for their entire team. Aggregate impact dashboards, ESG reporting exports, and public impact pages that prove commitment instead of just claiming it.

Community forest ownership

Long term, we want subscribers to collectively own the forests they fund. Not as a financial instrument — as a shared environmental legacy.
